Our monthly recaps, designed to keep you informed about everything we've been up to as a business. Each month, we'll provide a overview of our latest projects, milestones, and behind-the-scenes insights. Whether it's updates on new initiatives, achievements, or glimpses into the daily workings of our team, these recaps will give you an insider's look at our journey. We hope these updates will not only keep you connected with our progress but also inspire and engage you with the exciting developments happening at Seashell. Here's how our March went!

Seashell Hits the Big Screen! 🎬

Seashell jackets made it onto the set of the new Peaky Blinders movie! With filming taking place across Bradford, Liverpool, and Birmingham, the cast and crew faced brutal conditions—including back-to-back days of -10°C temperatures. When our contacts in the Art and Costume Departments reached out, we knew Seashell was the perfect fit. We supplied 12 jackets, and seeing them in action on such an iconic production was surreal. Want to channel your inner Tommy Shelby—minus the crime empire? Our Midnight jacket, just like the one Cillian Murphy wore on set, keeps you warm without the whiskey!

More Net Hunting! ⚓️

We hauled and unraveled a few big ropes as part of the Ghost Net 1000 campaign at Cairnbulg this month, removing them from the coastline and preventing them from causing further harm to marine life. This marks our fourth trip out this year as we work towards our goal of removing a tonne of ghost gear from Scottish shores. We should have an update soon with our total haul - stay tuned!

Meeting Helen, Tom, and Harriet 🌊

David from our team had an incredible time this month at Forest Green Rovers, meeting with our amazing charity partner Helen from The Captain Paul Watson Foundation and Tom Tucker from Minirig. Helen's dedication to marine conservation is truly inspiring, and it was incredible to hear firsthand about the foundation’s ongoing efforts to protect ocean wildlife. We’re so proud to support their mission. The meeting was a day filled with shared passion, great conversations, and, of course, football at the world’s greenest club!

Spreading the word about the Ghost Net mission continued at the Seashell Yard in northern Scotland, where we welcomed MP Harriet Cross to discuss our business growth and ongoing commitment to protecting our coastline. As the initiative expands nationwide, we're proud to support the removal of ghost nets and safeguard our marine environment.

Ocean Protection with Marine Biologist Alex O’Brien 🌍

We had the opportunity to learn from marine biologist Alex O’Brien, whose work spans global marine research, conservation, and education with Operation Wallacea. From protecting coral reefs to understanding the delicate balance of marine ecosystems, Alex shared invaluable insights into what it really takes to safeguard our oceans. Our main takeaway? That AI could be the key to saving our oceans! Advancements in recognition software and AI’s capabilities, combined with improvements to underwater cameras, make Alex a believer that soon we will be able to create systems of incredibly robust data with minimal input.
