How It Started
I'm Calum — founder of Seashell, and the reason it exists.
I spent years as a commercial diver, working some of the coldest, roughest waters around the British coast. The sea gave me a career, a way of life, and a perspective most people never get — how vast the ocean is, how alive it is, and how much damage we're doing to it.
I started Seashell in 2022 with a simple idea: build premium gear for people who feel most alive when nature is raw and real, and use the brand to protect the water that started it all.
What began on Scotland's shores has grown into a movement. The mission hasn't changed.

A Family Business
Seashell isn't a faceless brand — it's my mum, me, and a small group of like-minded people who care about the ocean as much as we do.
She's been part of this from day one. Operations, orders, supplier visits, the late-night problem-solving — all of it. When you buy from Seashell, you're buying from a two-person team that's hands-on with every part of the business.
We meet our manufacturers face-to-face. We test every product before it ships. We reply to customer emails ourselves.
A small team means tight standards, transparent decisions, and a brand still run by the people who started it.

You're Part of This
Seashell isn't just a brand — it's a community.
Cold water swimmers. Beach cleaners. Surfers. Storm chasers. Divers, dog walkers, photographers, parents teaching their kids to love the sea. Whatever pulls you to the water, this is for you.
Every piece we make is built for the people who actually go out there — tested in cold water, worn through early mornings, and the kind of weather most brands design for indoors.
If you've ever stood on a winter beach and felt something shift, you already get it.
You're part of this.
Our Story
From One Diver to a Movement

2022
From Diver to Founder
I'd spent years as a commercial diver — long days under the surface, in some of the coldest, roughest waters around the British coast. The more time I spent in it, the more I noticed two things: the gear most people had wasn't built for the conditions, and the ocean I loved was in real trouble.
Seashell launched that year, built around a simple idea — premium gear for cold water explorers, made by someone who actually goes there.
I kept diving full-time and built the brand around the day job.
It started small. It started honest.

2023
The Range Grows
The range grew. So did the community. We hosted fun days and photo shoots up and down the UK coast — pulling together swimmers, surfers, divers, dog walkers and beach lovers who'd found us through the gear.
What started as an idea on Scotland's shores began to feel like a movement. I was still diving full-time through it all.
Seashell ran on early mornings, late nights, and any spare hour between shifts on the boats.

2024
Turning Passion into Action
We went hands-on. Over twelve beach cleans across the year, the start of our ghost net removal work, and hours spent on the coast working alongside the people already doing the real conservation graft.
The mission stopped being something we said and became something we did. Cold mornings, full bin bags, tired hands — and the community showing up alongside us every time.

2025
One Wave. One Mission.
We partnered with The Captain Paul Watson Foundation to launch Project One Wave — a Scotland-wide conservation effort focused on ghost gear and coastal debris. By the end of the year, we'd recovered over a ton of discarded fishing net from the coast.
It was also the year we started donating £1 from every changing robe sold to the Foundation. The Project One Wave campaign moved on in 2025, but the donation hasn't — that £1 still goes to the Foundation's ongoing marine conservation work, every robe, every time.

2026
What's Next
A rebrand. A refreshed range.
New accessories built for the people who actually use them — and a new product launching this September that we've been working on quietly for over a year. It's the biggest thing we've made yet.
The mission's the same. The ambition's bigger. More gear, more cleanups, more partnerships — and a brand still run by the people who started it.
