FAQs
Are the fabrics really recycled and certified?
Yes.
The mat is made from 100% recycled fabrics throughout — the recycled nylon outer comes from pre-consumer nylon that would otherwise have gone to landfill, and the synthetic lambswool lining is recycled polyester (rPET) made largely from post-consumer plastic bottles.
Both certified by the Global Recycle Standard (GRS), and the lining is also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — third-party tested for harmful substances. Not just marketing speak.
How big is it — can I actually stand on it and change?
Yes. 60×60cm laid flat, which gives an adult plenty of room to stand and pull a wetsuit off without one foot landing in the sand.
It's sized to be the dry island you change on, not a postage stamp you keep falling off.
Is it actually waterproof, or just water-resistant?
Properly waterproof.
The outer shell is rated to 10,000mm — the same waterproof rating as the Seashell Robe — and treated with PFC-free BIONIC-FINISH®ECO water repellent.
That's the standard technical outdoor shells are built to, and it's why your dry kit stays dry on damp ground or in light rain.
How does it pack away?
An elastic strap is attached to the mat — roll it up, loop the strap, and it stays as a tidy bundle.
Small enough to live in your boot, kit bag, or under the back seat. No fumbling with separate stuff sacks or rogue drawstrings.
What's your return policy and guarantee?
30-day free returns on unused mats. Taken it out for a session and it's still not right? Get in touch anyway.
1-year performance guarantee on anything that fails in normal use — stitching coming apart, elastic strap failure, fabric defects. Accidental damage isn't covered, but genuine manufacturing faults are on us.
How do I wash and care for it?
Machine wash at 30°C, inside out. Don't tumble dry — hang it naturally.
Once a year, run it through with a re-waterproofing solution (Nikwax TX.Direct works well) to restore the water-beading on the outer shell.
No dry cleaning, no special cycles — treat it well and you'll get years out of it.
