Coastal Cleanup

900kg Of Waste Removed & Counting!

Since February 2024, we’ve been committed to coastal protection through two key initiatives: our Monthly Beach Cleans at local spots and the Ghost Net 1000, focused on removing abandoned fishing nets and debris. Together, these campaigns help restore and protect our oceans and coastlines.

Our Monthly Beach Cleans take place across Scotland, bringing communities together to protect our coastlines.

These events are free and open to everyone—come along, join the effort, and help support our mission to keep our beaches clean and our oceans thriving!

Ghost Net 1000

The Ghost Net 1000 campaign focuses on removing abandoned fishing nets and debris from both accessible and remote, hard-to-reach areas of Scotland’s coastline. Often buried under sand or trapped in rocks, these nets require our team to dig, cut, and pull to extract them.

By removing them, we ensure they don’t return to the sea, where they could cause harm or danger to marine life.

Next Steps..

Our next step is to go beyond simply removing waste from the coastline and sending it to landfill.

We’re exploring innovative ways to clean, shred, and repurpose these materials into new products. By giving once-washed-up waste a second life, we aim to turn coastal debris into something meaningful, helping to close the loop and further support a sustainable future for our oceans.
